Operational Walk Ireland is an Irish-based charity whose mission is to perform hip and knee replacements for patients who would otherwise not have access to this life-changing surgery. Joint replacements are limited in Vietnam and young patients often have advanced osteoarthritis with life limiting deformities. This can prevent them from providing for their families.
Last year a team from Ireland flew out and performed over 86 joint replacements over a 5 day period. The organisational work required to carry out this work is huge. It included the transport of over 2 tonnes of medical supplies alongside the logistics of organising vietnamese and Irish/U.K staff.
I plan to fly out on the 22nd March to Hanoi as part of a medical team to help carry out this life changing work.
Don’t you be taking a taxi to the finish line like you did in that triathlon
