FAQ’s

1 - General

Are there any time limits?

No! You can continue to raise money for as long as you wish. You decide when your page closes. When the date expires, you can choose to hide the page or leave it visible.

Do I have to be a registered charity to use iDonate.ie?

To register with iDonate.ie we require you to have a CHY number, non-profit status or a registered trust in place. If you do not have any of these then visit our sister site www.ifundraise.ie

How can I delete my account?

If you wish to delete your account, please email support@idonate.ie from the email address you registered with. Your account will be deleted within 48 Hours.

Is it safe?

Yes! We use Realex Payments to process payments. All transactions are processed on the Realex website which has the highest level of PCI Compliance – PCI DSS v3.1. No credit card details are stored on our systems. Your donations are stored securely until we transfer them each month.

I’m not in Ireland, can I setup a page?

Yes, anyone, anywhere can create a page on iDonate.ie. Please note all payments are processed in € euros.

What can I raise money for?

You can raise money for any cause registered on iDonate.ie. See who’s registered – www.idonate.ie/search-charity.html 

What fee do iDonate.ie charge

Each donation incurs a 2% site admin fee to maintain iDonate.ie plus a 3% transaction fee to cover credit card fees, processing fees and bank charges. Unlike other sites. causes can register on iDonate.ie for free and our fee’s are lower. Using iDonate.ie ensures your nominated cause receives more funds.

What happens the money I raise?

Each month we transfer funds you raised in the previous directly to your nominated cause.This happens automatically and causes are notified when we transfer funds.

What if I don’t reach my target?

Your nominated cause will receive all donations no matter what. Your target lets you aim for something. You can adjust your target at any stage.

What is iDonate.ie?

iDonate.ie is part of a network of fundraising websites which includes the registered school, sports clubs and community group fundraising website iFundraise.ie and the Event Registration website iRegister.ie.
Causes can accept donations online securely via iDonate.ie.
Fundraisers can also create online fundraising pages in aid of their favourite causes.

What’s the difference between a cause page and fundraising page.?

A Cause is what people fundraise for e.g. a charity or not for profit. A Cause page allows users to donate directly to the cause. These are generally setup by staff or volunteers within the cause.

A Fundraising page is setup by individuals who fundraise in aid of a cause. Fundraising pages let friends and family sponsor individuals and the fundraising page will show a running total, plus messages from donors.

Who owns iDonate.ie?

iDonate.ie is owned and managed by eBookIreland Promotions, N17 Retail Park, Galway Road, Tuam, Co. Galway.

2 - Your Fundraising Page

Can donors be Anonymous?

Yes, donors have the option not to leave their name.

Can I add offline donations?

Yes, you can add the amount received offline to your fundraising page total.

To add offline donations amount :-

  1. Login to your account
  2. Scroll down to your pages and click Edit Page
  3. Scroll to section 4 of your fundraising page details where you will see
    Offline Donations – If you have received donations offline, you can add the amount to your page total at any stage.
  4. Save Page
Can people donate from their phones?

Yes off course. iDonate.ie is fully mobile friendly.

Can people give on a monthly basis?

Yes, people can donate monthly to a cause page.

How will I know if someone donates?

We send an email notification to you each time a donation is made.

What are Team Pages

A Team Page lets fundraisers join a group of individual pages under 1 URL . It will display a running total of all pages combined, each individual page and additional profile image and description.

To setup a Team Page,

  1. Get each individual to create a personal fundraising page.
  2. login to your account, select My Team from left menu and click Add Team.
  3. Give you team a Name, upload an image and add some more details about the team. Save details. Your Team URL will be displayed after saving.
  4. Go to each page create in Step 1 and click the Add to Team icon  addtoteam . A notification will be sent to page owner.
  5. You can now share your team URL and supporters can donate to any individual on your team.
What happens the money I raise?

Each month we transfer funds raised in the previous month directly to the cause.

Who can donate?

Anyone! Donations can be made from anywhere in the world with a valid Visa or Mastercard.

Will my donors get charged any fees?

No, but they can cover the website the transaction fee & site fee which means you will get 100% of the donation.

3 - Donations

Can I use PayPal

No. We currently do not support payments via PayPal due to fees charged by PayPal. This ensures the cause gets the highest return from their fundraising.

How are donations processed

iDonate.ie uses Realex Payments to securely process donations. Realex Payments process billions in online and mobile payments every year for some of Europe’s biggest eCommerce brands. No card details are stored by iDonate.ie

What is a 101 Error Code

Transactions that return a result of 101 have been declined by the bank. While the most common cause of a declined transaction would be where insufficient funds exist to cover the cost of the transaction, other reasons may apply such as card reported stolen etc, incorrect CCV code, invalid expiry date, international payments block on the card. The issuing bank cannot divulge the reasons for a declined transaction to anyone other than the cardholder themselves. No funds will be received for declined transactions.
