While the most common cause of a declined transaction would be where insufficient funds exist to cover the cost of the transaction, other reasons may apply such as card reported stolen etc, incorrect CCV code, invalid expiry date, international payments block on the card. The issuing bank cannot divulge the reasons for a declined transaction to anyone other than the cardholder themselves. No funds will be received for declined transactions.
