We are taking part in Abseil Croke Park 4 DSI.
This will involve us strapping ourselves to the roof of the stands and abseiling down 150ft to the pitch. (We've been practicing jumping off the kitchen table, it'll be much the same right?)

We have decided to do this because we have seen first hand the great work that DSI's ability programme does. A big chunk of their funding comes from "The Purple Run" held in pheonix park every spring. However with Covid this didn't happen, with our abseil we hope to help make up this shortfall.

The ability programme helps enable young adults with down syndrome find meaningful employment and helps support them throughout their careers. We have seen this great work first hand with Fintan. Thanks to the ability program Fiintan now has a permanent position in a job he loves where he is a valued member of the team.

As well as supporting young adults, the ability programme helps guide employers in hiring young adults with down syndrome into meaningful roles in their staff teams, and helps both parties achieve a productive working relationship.

All funds raised here will go directly to Down Syndrome Ireland.
