🏔️ Climb for Aileen: Conquer Carrantuohill for a Cause! 🏔️
Have you ever dreamt of seeing the unmatched views from the peak of Carrantuohill? Now is your golden opportunity to turn that dream into a reality while making a significant impact on the fight against cancer!
Join us on June 8th for Climb for Aileen, a thrilling and fully guided ascent up Ireland's highest mountain. But this event is more than just an exhilarating climb – it's a chance to make a difference by raising funds for essential cancer services at Cork University Hospital (CUH).
This year, we have a powerful mission. Every €250 euro you raise will provide one genetic test to an individual at risk of developing cancer. Your support can make a tangible difference in the lives of those facing genetic predispositions, such as BRCA1, BRCA2, Lynch syndrome/HNPCC, Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), and more.
Why Genetic Testing Matters: Identifying genetic issues empowers individuals to take proactive measures in managing their health. Through genetic testing, we can uncover potential risks and implement additional screenings or recommend risk-reducing surgeries. This transformative approach shifts the focus from cure to prevention, giving people the power to reclaim control from cancer.
How Your Fundraising Impacts Lives:
🧬 Each €250 raised Provides one Genetic Test: Your fundraising efforts will directly fund genetic testing, allowing individuals to understand their genetic predisposition to cancer and guiding generations to come.
🏥 Supports Essential Cancer Services in CUH: An average course of cancer treatment costs in excess of €200,000 per person. So by preventing presentations, we hope we can redirect funding towards other valuable developments.
💪 Empowerment Through Prevention: Your support helps in creating a future where individuals can actively prevent and manage their cancer risks.
